The American Economic Association, or AEA, is the oldest and most important professional organization in the field of economics. It was established in 1885. The AEA publishes three economics journals: the American Economic Review, the Journal of Economic Literature, and the Journal of Economic Perspectives. It also publishes EconLit, which is a database of economics articles from many different sources.

The European Economic Association (EEA) is an international scientific body, with membership open to all persons involved or interested in economics. The aims of the Association are to contribute to the development and application of economics as a science in Europe; and to improve communication and exchange between teachers, researchers and students in economics in the different European countries.

   

 
International Economic Association

The IEA was founded in 1950 as a Non Governmental Organization, at the instigation of the Social Sciences Department of UNESCO. Its aim from the beginning has been to promote personal contacts and mutual understanding among economists in different parts of the world through the organization of scientific meetings, through common research programs and by means of publications of an international character on problems of current importance.
   

 
Iranian Association for Energy Economics

IRAEE was founded in February 1995 by 15 energy and energy economics experts in Iran. IRAEE is affiliated with the International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE). It is  a non-profit and non-political organization aiming at analyzing and studying scientific, research-oriented, and technical projects concerning energy economics and energy- related  issues including: Oil, gas, and petrochemicals; developments of oil markets; energy auditing; energy conservation; etc.  
   

 
Middle East Economic Association

The MEEA is a private, non-profit, non-political organization of scholars interested in the study of the economies and economics of the Middle East. The geographical term "Middle East" is used in its widest usage. Its objectives shall be:

- promotion of high standard scholarship,

- facilitation of communication among scholars through meetings and publications, and

- promotion of cooperation among persons and organizations committed to the objectives of MEEA.
